The Hockey Lab?​
An elite Hockey Coaching Company brought to you by founder Michael Hoare. We at The Hockey Lab pride ourselves on high quality coaching, infectious enthusiasm and a real desire to help every single player develop along their own sporting journey.
Founder
Michael Hoare
Olympian & England Hockey.
Michael Hoare has had vast experience in what it takes to make it at the top of his profession. Not only has he competed for England & Great Britain as a player, but he is now coaching within the England NAGs programme.
This is combined with his unique story of growing up in Liverpool and having to fight hard to compete with those from other geographical locations and education systems. Has given him the passion and drive to want to share his expertise with others.

The Hockey Lab
Coaching across the UK
Camps, coach education and small group training sessions will be provided at Harrow School in North West London and different locations across Yorkshire and Shropshire. Whenever possible The Hockey Lab can also come to your club or school reducing travel time and other limiting factors.
The aim of this is to create opportunities for all Hockey Players regardless of your current location. Providing access to high quality coaching to help ‘bridge the gap’ that currently exists in our sport.

"Michael’s knowledge of the game, top level experience and attention to detail shone through his sessions with the Formby HC ladies players.
His approach to coaching engaged everyone, and provided a really strong learning environment. From tackling, to passing, to receiving the ball, he articulated the importance of stick position, body position and foot work. Making players think differently and break down the skills, to truly understand how they could improve was evident in such a small time. There were lots of take away messages, put simply, easy to understand and hard to forget. Face to face training combined with digital support.
The Hockey Lab provides a platform to allow easy access to online sessions, video analysis and coach education webinars for anyone but particularly if you live outside our main catchment areas.
This platform effectively gives aspiring young hockey players or coaches access to an Elite level coach on their smart phone or laptop as an extra training aid or opportunity to develop.
Combined with face to face training with Michael and his team, THL members will receive the perfect blend of tuition to catapult them forward. This blend of digital and face to face training structure creates the perfect chemical compound for success.
